How to use FXtab
Hover, focus, or tap the information buttons for explanations.
Check a quote
Compare an actual bank, card, or transfer quote with the reference amount, including any fees.
Cost against the reference rate is the total you pay, including fees added separately, minus the reference equivalent (the amount you receive divided by the reference rate), as a percentage of the amount you pay. This is the total-cost measure of UN SDG indicator 10.c.1, taken against the reference rate. A negative value means the quote is better than the reference rate.
Convert
Convert at the latest available reference rate. Your provider may offer a different rate and charge fees.
History
Explore past rates and download the observations. Each pair uses one source throughout its history.
First rate = 100
Divide each rate by the first rate in the selected period and multiply by 100. A value of 110 means a 10% rise; 90 means a 10% fall. Summary statistics and CSV downloads retain the original rates.
Choose how much history to show, counted back from the latest observation. The displayed dates show actual coverage; older observations may not exist for every currency.
Plan
Apply past currency movements to an amount you expect to pay or convert. The results describe history, not future probabilities.
Choose a goal, enter a fixed amount, and set the time until payment. We apply past movements over that many days to today’s rate. Fees are excluded.
The wide range uses the 10th and 90th cutoffs of sorted historical amounts; the likely range uses the 25th and 75th. These are not probabilities for a future payment.
Based on overlapping historical periods. These scenarios are not forecasts or future probabilities.
Travel card
Save a currency reference as a phone image, a printable card, or a self-contained offline page.
